While most definitions of "milking" refer to the drawing of milk from the teat of a female mammal, the internet, in its infinite wisdom, has given it another meaning - to publicly drench oneself in milk, and put it online.
A video posted on YouTube Tuesday shows a group of Harvard University students pouring milk over their heads in various spots in Boston and Cambridge - including the Harvard University campus and the MBTA.
The stunts follow the emergence of the new internet trend,"milking," which is similar to the "planking" craze, only messier.
Harvard University student Alejandro Perez, the roommate of one of the Harvard Milkers, said that the video was inspired by a viral video out of Newcastle, England, in which a group of students and graduates are seen pouring four-pint containers of milk over themselves across the city.
That video has had over a half-million views since being posted online two weeks ago.
Perez would not release details on the Harvard Milkers, saying the student producers hoped to keep the "allure" of the potentially viral video.
