A rap video featuring MBTA mascot Charlie is part of a new campaign to increase safety awareness among children traveling on the transit system.
The “Safety Bounce” video was produced specifically for the MBTA, and features the T’s mascot dancing along with transit employees. Some of the lyrics include, "Now watch me bounce while I ride it out/bounce when you ride it out," "Look before you step see the curb," and "The gap is not your friend."
"So you’re running late when you finally catch the train and those doors start to shut, BAM, dead in your face again. Don’t be a fool, get hurt today, when you know another train is on the way."
T officials said the entire cost of producing the song and video was covered by the MBTA’s advertising contractor, Titan.
