VIDEO: Police seek teen suspect in Chinese restaurant bombing; no injuries reported

Police are seeking a teenaged suspect who planted an explosive in a Chinese food restaurant in North Philly on Wednesday night.

Police are seeking a teenaged suspect who planted an explosive in a Chinese food restaurant in North Philly on Wednesday night.

In surveillance footage of the incident, the teen male, believed to be about 14 years old, runs into the restaurant and places something in a box on the wall just after 8:30 p.m. Wednesday.

As he runs out the door a sparks burns a fuse. Moments later the room is filled with smoke and flying debris from a powerful explosion.

The restaurant damaged by the bomber was Oriental Kitchen on the 900 block of North 18th Street between Poplar Street and Girard Avenue, in the neighborhood of Francisville.

No one was injured during the bombing.

No motive was reported in the attack.

No one was answering the phone at the restaurant on Thursday morning.
