Authorities are on the lookout for the driver behind the wheel of a car that drove onto an Astoria sidewalk and injured one passerby early Saturday morning.
Authorities are on the lookout for the person behind the wheel of a car that careened onto an Astoria sidewalk and injured one passerby early Saturday morning.
Police said that a white sedan drove onto the sidewalk along 30th Avenue in Queens before ramming into the 21-year-old victim at around 4:05 a.m.
Surveillance video from the scene shows the man pausing while walking on the sidewalk near 45th Street when the passenger side of the car slams into him, hurling him towards a the opposite street corner.
The victim suffered from a broken femur, a dislocated shoulder and a concussion, police said. He was released from an area hospital soon after the over the weekend.
Investigators said the driver remained in the car and fled to parts unknown.
