Two confrontational gentleman in Times Square decided to settle their differences like men and challenged each other to a crutch duel.
It’s unclear what sparked the fight, but it started as a heated exchange between two men, one of whom had a pair of crutches, near the intersection of 42nd Street and Seventh Avenue. The YouTube user who uploaded the video yesterday described it as “Tourist and Bum get into fight in Times Square.”
The man with the crutches uses one to whack his opponent, before that man tries to lift a large wooden police barrier and toss it at his crutch-wielding foe. The art of crutch combat is a crafty one.
A man who appears to be a security guard of some kind puts in a half-hearted attempt to break up the fight, but the battle rages on as the first man chases the other man with his crutch, trying to strike him again. His opponent runs over to the second crutch on the ground and grabs it — now the fight is fair!
The two fence with their crutch swords until they both break. They exchange some profanities before the video abruptly ends.
We may never know who won this epic battle.
