Boston police on Wednesday released shocking surveillance video of the incident. The man wearing a dark hooded sweatshirt gets out of a car as the woman walks nearby on Crown Point Drive just before 6:30 a.m.

The man then walks up to the woman and, police said, points a gun at her. The woman’s expression turns to shock and fright as she holds her hands up to her face.

Police said the man pointed a gun directly at her and pulled the trigger, but no shots were fired.

The man then got into the back seat of the car and someone else drives away.
