“The Amazing Spider-Man 2” has been filming all over New York City for the past several months.
Even a superhero like Spider-Man needs a break sometimes.
The film’s lead actor, Andrew Garfield, played basketball with local kids at PS 1 school in Chinatown – in costume. Donning a full Spider-Man costume Garfield shot some hoops with kids. Tell us this is not every child’s dream come true?
Gothamist is reporting that Emma Stone, Garfield’s co-star and real-life girlfriend was also there with her dog watching the game.

Reddit user Qspnest recounts what happened:
“I was one of the guys playing basketball on the far left side of the court. The movie guys were filming the same scenes of Spiderman on the front of an NYPD emergency vehicle driving down Madison Street. Garfield started playing ball with the kids when it started drizzling and thy stopped shooing for safety reasons. Funny thing is that it continued to drizzle and they decided to resume filming and on one of the next takes Garfield slips and hurts himself and they had to take a long break.”
Peter Parker isn’t only saving the world, but also spilling a web of jobs and cash in New York City.
According to Gov. Andrew Cuomo, “The Amazing Spider-Man 2” will be the largest movie production ever to be filmed in the city. The production will bring 3,500 jobs and cast 11,000 extras.
