Here we go again.

As of Wednesday morning, the National Weather Service is forecasting that up to four inches of snow will cover Boston on Thursday. The totals have decreased since Tuesday when forecasters called for up to six inches to fall in Boston.

The storm will move in early Thursday morning with flakes falling in time for the morning commute. It will then continue until about 3 p.m. before it changes over to a mix and then all rain after 4 p.m. Thursday’s high temperature is expected to be about 37 degrees.

Boston will then experience a mix of rain and snow on Thursday night and early Friday morning mainly before 10 a.m.

Snowfall amounts were expected to be lower on the South Shore and higher outside of Interstate 495 with some parts of the state getting up to 14 inches.

So far this winter, Boston has seen more than 46 inches of the white stuff. The normal amount through this point is about 27 inches.
