Weiner jokes about fat cops in Brooklyn campaign stop

On the eve of National Donut Day, mayoral hopeful Anthony Weiner may have bought into the stereotype about cops and their favorite pastries a little too publicly.

 

 

The former congressman, speaking at Temple Shaare Emeth in Canarsie, was discussing putting officers on bike and foot patrols when he joked, “I think a few of them could use a few hours on a bike, if you know what I’m saying.”

 

Afterward, he walked the statement back a bit, saying he wanted cops to “go out and walk and to bike and just be a presence in the community," the New York Post reported.

At the same event, Weiner also reportedly asked one questioner if she was flirting with him.
