A possibly injured whale was spotted within Boston Harbor Monday.
A vessel operated by Boston Harbor Cruises spotted the humpback whale Monday morning, the company said. It posted photos of the whale on its Twitter page.
The New England Aquarium said the whale was about 30 feet long and had an injury to its tail, according to WBZ. State environmental police and the Coast Guard were maintaining a protective area around the whale so that it wasn't harmed by boaters as it returned out to sea at about noon.
