Widener student, 19, shot in car after basketball game, police say
A 19-year-old Widener University student was shot in the head and left shoulder Monday night on the university's Chester campus, police said today.

The male was shot around 9 p.m. on the 900 East 17th Street behind Widener's Schwartz Athletic Center. Chester Police said the man was found on the ground with gunshot wounds to the head and left shoulder.
He was transported to Crozer Chester Medical Center where he is listed in serious condition.
"The Widener student was sitting inside a vehicle after playing a game of basketball when he was approached," according to a news release.
The attacker wore dark sweat pants with a white stripe and a blue jean jacket. He fled toward the Sun Hill section of the city, police said.
Police said the investigation is ongoing.
