Widow of state lawmaker wins seat

The 185th legislative district will remain in the Donatucci family after state Rep. Robert Donatucci’s widow handily won a special election Tuesday.

HARRISBURG – The 185th legislative district will remain in the Donatucci family after state Rep. Robert Donatucci’s widow handily won a special election Tuesday.

Maria Donatucci, a 54-year-old Democrat, defeated Republican Lewis Harris with 94 percent of the vote. She will represent the area comprised of South Philadelphia and parts of Delaware County, completing the term of her late husband, who died in November shortly after being re-elected. “I look forward to adding her voice and experience to the State House,” Pennsylvania Democratic Party Chairman Jim Burn said.
