An elderly woman was fatally struck by an SUV while crossing a street in Brooklyn on Friday morning, police said.
The Pei Yao Wu, 82, was found unconscious and unresponsive around 8 a.m. after the collision near East 16th Street and Gravesend Neck Road in Sheepshead Bay.
Investigators determined Wu was crossing Gravesend Neck Road when she was hit by a Nissan SUV traveling east on the street, police said.
Wu was rushed to Coney Island Hospital and pronounced dead just before 8:40 a.m.

The 43-year-old driver of the SUV remained on scene and was issued two summons, for failing to yield to a pedestrian and failing to exercise due care.
On Tuesday afternoon, 77-year-old Marlene Baharlias was fatally hit by a car parallel parking less than six blocks away.
