A Roxbury woman admitted that she lied to a jury about her role in the fatal shooting of an innocent 13-year-old.
Destiny Gunn, 22, pleaded guilty Tuesday to perjury, the Suffolk district attorney's office said today. She lied to a grand jury investigating the 2007 killing of Luis Gerena.
Gunn drove the killers from the scene and was present in a car when they later pointed a gun to a witness’s head. Prosecutors said she lied when she told the grand jurors she didn’t remember driving the killers from the scene and said she was not in the car when the witness was threatened.
Gunn is the third person convicted in the killing.
Nurudeen Alabi and Darrell Rodrigues, both 21, are in state prison for admitting to their roles in the killing.
The men were members of the Academy Homes gang and set out to rob and shoot a rival gang member. They happened upon Gerena, robbed him of his cell phone and fatally shot him.
Gerena had no gang ties and was returning home from a visit to a friend’s house.
Gunn will be sentenced Dec. 20.
