A woman died and a man is in critical condition after a fire in Queens early Monday morning, officials said.
A 57-year-old woman died at Elmhurst Hospital after a fire broke out at 42-20 74th St. just before 3:30 a.m., according to fire and police officials.
The fire spread through the entire two-story home quickly. A spokesman said the fire department had reports of people trapped in the house.

The woman who died had severe burns and a cardiac condition, officials said.
A man, believed to be in his 20s, was taken to Weill-Cornell Hospital in critical condition. He was treated for third-degree burns, officials said.
Four others were taken to Elmhurst Hospital and treated for minor injuries. After the blaze, three firefighters were also taken to Elmhurst Hospital and treated for minor injuries.
The fire was under control around 5 a.m.
The cause of the fire is still under investigation but doesn't appear suspicious, the fire department said.
