Riverton Police Chief John Shaw posted on the Riverton Police Facebook page yesterday that the local department is working in conjunction with the Prosecutor's Office in Burlington County.
"We want you to know you are safe to participate in all of your normal daily activities, including being outside, jogging, walking your dogs, etc.," he said on Facebook.
Cinnaminson Patch reported Shaw said the message was a "pre-emptive strike" to put residents' minds at ease. He also told Patch he believed the last fatal shooting in the borough was more than 30 years ago.
