Woman is stabbed at Ashmont T station

A woman was stabbed at the Ashmont MBTA station just after 9 a.m. Tuesday morning and police are searching for the attacker.

The unidentified woman had just arrived at the Dorchester station on a Brockton Area Transit bus, according to a T spokesman.

A man stabbed the woman in the upper right shoulder area while she was at the south entrance of the station. The incident was immediately reported by a T customer service agent, according to a T spokesman.

Emergency responders transported the woman to Boston Medical Center. Her injuries were not considered life-threatening.

Transit Police are investigating and are reviewing the station’s surveillance cameras.

Officials did not release a description of the suspect.
