A homeless man was arrested for allegedly raping a woman outside the Port Authority Bus Terminal early Saturday morning.
Joseph Johnson, 52, was arrested by Port Authority police officers around 7 a.m. when the victim ran into the bus terminal after allegedly being attacked, according to the New York Daily News.
The woman told police Johnson raped her near the entrance to the Lincoln Tunnel, about a block from the terminal.
Cops charged Johnson with rape in the first degree, criminal sex act in the first degree, criminal possession of stolen property and criminal possession of a weapon.
Sources told the Daily News Johnson had over 70 arrests, mostly for misdemeanors, on his rap sheet.
The woman, who might also be homeless, was taken to St. Luke's — Roosevelt Hospital.
In a separate incident early Thursday morning, another homeless man allegedly tried to rape a woman in at the Howard Beach-JFK Airport subway station.
Beginning at 2 a.m., the 42-year-old victim was stalked by the suspect during her commute, according to the Queens Courier.
Melvin Adams, 37, was charged with attempted rape, robbery and harassment for allegedly following the victim and grabbing her when she would not give him money.
