Woman suspected in string of Quincy fires

A Quincy woman repeatedly found drinking near the scene of recent fires in that city will face arson charges in court today.

Laura Barrett, 43, allegedly admitted to police that she set fires earlier this month in Quincy Center, according to the Patriot Ledger.

Barrett was also believed to be responsible for the May torching of a detached garage on Greenleaf Street, which destroying a car.

She was found drinking from an open alcohol container near fires set early Saturday morning.

Police charged her with two counts of burning a dwelling and five counts each of arson of personal property and pulling a false alarm.
