Women jump to escape flames in Kensington house fire

Two women were injured when they jumped out of a third-floor window to escape flames in a Kensington row house early this morning.

A third person was hurt in the fire on Frankford Avenue, near Cambria Street, NBC10 reports. The fire broke out about 2:45 a.m.

The two women who jumped from the third floor window first tried to use a ladder to escape the fire, but the ladder broke, forcing them to jump. They were taken to Temple University Hospital.

Philadelphia firefighters found a third person in the home. That person was also taken to Temple University Hospital.

The fire started on the home's third floor, but its cause remains undetermined.
