Worker dies in Brooklyn building collapse

Four others were injured.

One construction worker died and four others were injured when a building collapsed at about 11 a.m. today in Brooklyn.

The two-story building, which was being worked on at the time, was located on Frank Court in the Gerritsen Beach neighborhood, according to the New York Daily News.

The 22-year-old worker died after he was trapped under the rubble. Fellow hardhats were able to pull him out but he died at Lutheran Medical Center but could not be saved. The others were treated for minor injuries.

Workers told the Daily News they were joking about the private home collapsing just moments before it actually did.
