Yanks say they’re still gaga over Gaga

The Yankees yesterday said Lady Gaga is not banned from the team’s clubhouse, contradicting a report that she had been 86’d for making a scantily-clad, drunken and unannounced visit during which she grabbed her breasts.

“She’s not banned,” GM Brian Cashman said yesterday, according to ESPN. “Celebrities aren’t banned. If Michael Jordan showed up here he would have access, but not after a loss.”

The only mistake that Gaga — born Stefani Germanotta — made was coming in after a loss on Friday, Cashman said. “There is just a time and place,” said Cashman. “It is not her fault.”

Cashman contradicted a New York Post article yesterday that said team owner Hal Steinbrenner was so livid that Lady Gaga — clad in a barely buttoned pinstripe jersey, bra, fishnets and bikini bottoms — had talked her way past security and made a whiskey-fueled scene that he ordered she never be allowed in again.
