Looking for a job can seem like a daunting task, but not at the second annual Hospitality Awareness Day and Job Fair at the World Trade and Convention Centre Saturday.
The Hospitality Human Resources Committee and the Hospitality Association of Nova Scotia created the fair last year in hopes of keeping Nova Scotia workers in the province.
“We’re starting to really showcase what some of the positions are like, what sorts of skills sets are required and how people make a career out of this,” said the Prince George Hotel’s Carol Logan.
The event gets underway at 11 a.m. and focuses on the fun side of hospitality through bed making competitions, culinary demonstrations by hotel chefs and door prizes.
Representatives and staff from 15 properties will be on hand to educate people about the industry.
