Lower Mainland blanketed in the white stuff

Metro Vancouver residents got an opportunity to experience a true Canadian winter on Thursday as 10 to 15 centimetres of snow dumped on the Lower Mainland.

While the weather wreaked havoc on commuters, others took advantage of the rare snowfall. Among them were a pair of Venezuelan tobogganers, a Mexican Capoeirista in English Bay and masses of amateur photographers in Stanley Park.

Rain will replace snow for the next few days with temperatures rising above freezing, Environment Canada said. There is no snow in the long-term forecast.
