New York State’s unofficial pet, Big Boy, has died.
Lt. Gov Kathy Hochul posted a goodbye message to her 21-year-old cat on Twitter on Sunday, writing: “I regret to say that Big Boy, who once unofficially named the NYS pet, has passed away at 21 yrs of age.” Hochul had some fun when Gov. Andrew Cuomo went on a weekend vacation to the Carribean in April, outlining her plans on Twitter for her weekend in charge of the state. They included making chicken wings from her native Buffalo the temporary state food, and naming Big Boy as the state pet, theBuffalo News reported.
