MacMillan a ‘maybe’ for Rimouski tilt against former team

Logan MacMillan is a “maybe” for his return to the Metro Centre with the Rimouski Oceanic on Saturday.

The former Halifax Mooseheads forward, traded in December to the Oceanic, will be back in town to face his former team for the first time, but will have missed three games with a Charley horse and will be a game-day decision.

MacMillan has four goals and eight assists in 13 games since joining the Memorial Cup hosts.

“He’s been doing a good job,” said Oceanic head coach Clement Jodoin, a former head coach of the Mooseheads. “He’s a physical player, he can score, and his transition to a new team has been quite good. I’ve been pleased with him.”

As they have all season, the Oceanic will be severely shorthanded when they visit Halifax. Top forwards Felix Lafrancois, Keven Veilleux and Olivier Fortier are also on the shelf.

Jodoin said his team has eclipsed 200 man games lost to injury and said the league record is 225. The Oceanic have not lived up to expectations as a result, going 29-22-1. “I have no first line, second line or third line,” Jodoin said. “I have to put together a puzzle every game.”
