A popular and well-known West Village bakery has been shut down due to a mice infestation.
Magnolia Bakery, made famous by the show Sex and the City, was closed by the Health Department due to five critical violations, including evidence of mice and rats on the premises, according to the Health Department’s report filed on Feb. 14.
A bakery spokesperson said that the mice problem began as a result of Hurricane Sandy, which pushed mice more inland, according to the NY Post.
Exterminators have been on site and the bakery spokesperson said they hoped to reopen Saturday.
