A 23-year-old Framingham man was expected to appear in court Monday to answer to charges that he punched an 82-year-old man in the chest during a road rage incident.

Police said they arrested Gregory Brown Friday afternoon after investigating the incident that involved an elderly Framingham man.

Lt. Ron Brandolini said that officers were called to Worcester Road and Temple Street about 10 a.m. Friday for a report of a fight. When officers got there the two cars involved had left, but a witness remained and gave police license plates.

Officers went to the home of the victim and the elderly man told them that he was sitting in traffic when it began moving, but the car in front of him remained stationary. The man beeped his horn twice and said the driver appeared to be agigtated. The driver, Brown, got out of his car and the elderly man said he rolled down his window to talk to him. That’s when Brown allegedly punched the man near his rib cage, Brandolini said.

Officers then interviewed Brown at the police station and charged his with assault and battery on an elderly person.
