A man has been charged in connection to allegations he attempted to abduct a 14-year-old girl from a mall parking lot after offering her money for sex.

Police said that at around 5 p.m. on Monday, Robert Toney, 25, of Texas, drove up to the 14-year-old girl near the Olive Garden at the Shoppers World Plaza in Framingham, WHDH reported. He allegedly offered her money in exchange for sex.

When the girl said no, Toney allegedly ordered her to get into his car, WHDH added.

The girl again refused, and a witness called police, Framingham Police Lieutenant Harry Wareham told the Boston Globe, which added that Toney allegedly fled the parking lot in a Chevy sedan with Texas plates.

Toney was pulled over a short time later in a car matching that description, according to WHDH. The girl identified him as the man from the parking lot.

Framingham police arrested Toney, and he was charged with enticement of a child under 16 years old, the Globe added.

In Newton, two similar incidents were reported to police last weekend, and authorities were working to determine if all three incidents were related, WHDH added.
