Man arrested in ‘bizarre’ road rage incident: Cops

A Vancouver man is facing a slew of charges after allegedly arming himself with a metal pipe and trying to take out his road rage on a truck and then on a witness, according to police.

It all started when a truck driver was rear-ended at a stoplight on 49th Avenue and was confronted by the enraged suspect, who started throwing punches, said Const. Lindsey Houghton.

“The delivery driver (tried) to put the man into a headlock … as bystanders called 911.”

According to witnesses, the suspect grabbed a metal pipe and tried to smash the windows of the delivery truck, where the victim had fled for safety.

When one bystander grabbed the pipe, the aggressor got back into his car, put it into reverse and tried to hit the witness.

Police arrested a man at a nearby parkade.
