Police arrested Brooklyn man Steve Whittingham for the murder of 36-year-old Jonelle Barker, who was found stabbed to death in a car parked on New Lots Avenue, in the East New York section of Brooklyn at about 3:30 a.m. Thursday, police said. Whittingman has also been charged with the murder of Jerome Barrett, who was shot and killed in the lobby a Brooklyn building early Wednesday morning. The police said the crimes were linked.
