A woman told Boston Police that she was attacked in broad daylight by a man who tried to sexually assault her near Fitzgerald Park in Mission Hill.

The woman told investigators that a man came up from behind her just before 1:45 p.m. Saturday on Saint Alphonsus Street and threw her to the ground.

The man attempted to sexually assault her before fleeing, police said.

The suspect was described as a man in his late 20s, about 5 feet, 8 inches tall, with a slim build, goatee, black hair in a ponytail and tattoos on both arms. He was weating black and white sneakers, black shorts and a black T-shirt with white lettering at the time.

He was later seen riding a Rincon model Giant brand mountain bike toward Huntington Avenue.
