For the second time in less than one week, a man was found badly beaten in Brighton after being attacked and left near death.

Boston police are now asking for the public’s help locating a suspect in the attack.

Police said that officers were called to the area of 354 Chestnut Hill Ave. at about 2 a.m. Friday to assist a person who had been assaulted. When officers arrived they found the man, believed to be in his early 20s, unconscious in the rear of the address.

The man suffered head trauma and was taken to Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center. He suffered life-threatening injuries, police said.

A similar incident took place earlier this month.

A man was walking along Commonwealth Avenue in Brighton just after 12:30 a.m. on May 17 when he was jumped and attacked by two men. The victim also suffered life-threatening injuries.

Detectives are investigating. Anyone with information can call 617-343-4470.
