Police have released photos and video of two suspects wanted for brutally beating up a Brooklyn man before robbing him.
On Monday, Dec. 28 at 12:48 a.m. the 55-year-old victim was walking in front of 809 Avenue M when the two suspects approached him from behind, cops said. One of the men then punched the victim on the head, knocked him down and continued to punch and kick the man.
Both the suspects then went through the victim’s pockets and took his wallet, which contained credit cards. The two then fled on Avenue M toward Ocean Parkway.
The victim was treated and released at Maimonides Medical Center for scratches and contusions to the head, knees and hands, police said.
According to the New York Daily News, the Brooklyn resident — identified as Eli Weinstein — needed 70 stitches after the incident.
Police describe the suspects as men with a light complexion, thin builds and wearing hooded sweatshirts.
Local elected officials have offered a $3,000 award for any information leading to the arrest of the two men, the Daily News reported.
Anyone with information about the incident is encouraged to contact the NYPD’s Crime Stoppers hotline at 1-800-577-TIPS. Tipsters can text information via 274637 (CRIMES) and then entering TIP577, too.
