Man charged twice for driving under heroin influence

A 34-year-old West Vancouver man has been arrested twice in five days for driving while under the influence of heroin.

Early Wednesday morning, the man was pulled over by West Vancouver Police after allegedly failing to respond to a change in traffic lights. After some initial questioning, the man was identified as the same person whom police had arrested on Dec. 12. Police seized one gram of heroin from a vehicle.

The man was scheduled to appear in court Thursday morning. Police are recommending separate charges of driving while impaired.
