A Bronx man is now facing murder and manslaughter charges after a confession led police to the gruesome discovery of his girlfriend’s two-month-old son’s body in woods upstate.

The discovery of the dead infant happened on Saturday after cops were tipped off by staff on Friday at the New York Presbyterian Hospital in White Plains with information surrounding the death of the 31-year-old woman’s infant son, Mason Whyte, inside a Bronx apartment, police said.

Once detectives tracked the mother down, she reportedly told police that her 51-year-old boyfriend — later identified by police as Jose Feliciano of the Bronx — had beaten her son to death on Dec. 10 and then the two drove upstate to get rid of the body.

She reportedly added that she was not with her boyfriend when he killed her child.

Before dumping the body, the couple checked into the Heidi’s Inn motel in Brewster, NY, sources told the New York Daily News.

After conducting a canvass in Dover, NY, authorities found the child’s body in a wooded area near Kitchen Corner Road and Route 22.

Feliciano is being charged with murder, manslaughter, and manslaughter of a person less than 11 years old and there is currently no information on whether the child’s mother will be charged, police said.

It was also not immediately clear whether Feliciano was the boy’s father.

An autopsy will determine the exact cause of death.
