Man crashes into Belt Parkway guardrail, ejected from car
NEW YORK, NY - JUNE 04: Police crime tape lies near the scene of a recent murder on June 4, 2013 in the Brooklyn borough of New York City. While shootings in New York City are down, seven people were killed and more than two dozen were shot last weekend, and officials have warned that a shrinking police force could mean a violent summer ahead. In response the New York Police Department (NYPD) has set up stationary observation towers, added patrols and put additional plainclothes officers in high crime neighborhoods. A man suffered a gruesome accident car accident on Monday morning, when he drove his 2009 Infinity M-35X into a Belt Parkway guardrail at a high speed, causing him to lose control of his vehicle.
After swerving across the Mill Basin Bridge, the as-yet-unidentified man crashed into another guardrail and light pole before being ejected from the vehicle and landing on the ground below the overpass.
Officers found the man unconscious and unresponsive, and he was pronounced dead on arrival by EMS responders.
The cause of the accident remains unknown.
