A Surrey man is dead and another remains in hospital in critical condition after a shooting at a Cloverdale strip club.
The two victims were transported to hospital where Christopher Roy Whitmee, 34, died of his injuries.
RCMP Cpl. Dale Carr said investigators are trying to determine whether Saturday night’s shooting at the Cloverdale Show Lounge is linked to drugs or gangs.
“The shooting has indicators of being a targeted shooting,” Carr said.
“We are attempting to establish whether we have one person that was the intended target of the shooting and the other being a bystander.”
Shortly after the shooting a hit-and-run took place at the nearby intersection of Highway 10 and 176 Street.
Mounties are asking the driver to come forward so they can eliminate him or her as a suspect in the shootings.
