Man dressed as construction worker tries to rob Queens bank: Police

Autistic man who went missing during trip to Prospect Park has been found:

Police are looking for a suspect who attempted to rob an Astoria bank Wednesday afternoon while dressed in full construction gear.

On April 27 at about 3:40 p.m. the suspect — described as a black man between 25 and 35 years old — entered the Sussex County Bank, located at 26-21 Astoria Blvd., according to authorities.

The man then took out a gun while he demanded money, police said, but ran away westbound on Astoria Boulevard empty handed.

The NYPD — who released surveillance images of the man — describes him to be between 5 feet 10 inches and 5 feet 11 inches tall, and about 180 pounds. He was last seen wearing a hard hat, reflective vest, a dust mask, gloves and dark sunglasses.
