A man was arrested Sunday after a suspect fled from police in a stolen car, nearly hitting an off-duty officer.
A man was spotted driving a car slowly around pedestrians at a marked crosswalk on Whyte Avenue and 106 Street around 4:30 p.m. Sunday.
When police attempted to wave the man over, he accelerated his car, police said, going the wrong way down a one-way street.
After narrowly missing an off-duty officer on motorcycle and a person in a wheelchair, the man sped away, police said.
The vehicle was abandoned near 109 Street and 84 Avenue, and police found and detained a man nearby.
Chas Roger Badger, 24, is charged with dangerous driving, criminal flight from police and two counts of possession of stolen property under $5,000.
