Boston Police are investigating a fatal shooting that took place Thursday night in Mattapan, the department announced Friday.
Officers responded to a call of shots fired in the area of 87 Southern Ave., near Dorchester Center.
Once there, police said they found a man in his 20s suffering from what appeared to be a gunshot wound.
The victim was transported to Boston Medical Center, where he later died. His identity was not immediately released.
