Police are investigating after a man was shot dead and found in the basement stairwell of a Bronx home early Tuesday morning.
Cops responded to a call about shots being fired at the home on East 221st Street near Carpenter Avenue shortly after 1 a.m. The victim, 44, was found with a gunshot wound to his head lying in the basement stairwell of the house, police said.
The man was pronounced dead at the scene. No arrests have been made and the investigation is ongoing.
Police have not yet released the man’s identity.
