Man gets 2 years for DUI

A man found guilty of impaired driving was sentenced to two years in jail and a 10-year driving prohibition. Floyd Archibald Pelley, 52, of East Preston appeared in Shubenacadie provincial court on Thursday and pleaded guilty to impaired driving, dangerous driving and driving while prohibited.

On Aug. 7, Pelley was stopped by police after travelling north in the southbound lane of Highway 102 near the Milford exit.

Police say the car was swerving on the road shortly after 9 p.m. Pelley, the lone occupant of the vehicle, blew three times over the legal limit of .08 milligrams.

Remanded
Prior to being sentenced, Floyd Archibald Pelley was remanded to the Central Nova Correctional Facility in Burnside.
