A Bronx man was indicted Wednesday on a murder charge for fatally shooting his ex-girlfriend in 2015 outside of their daughter’s daycare center in Harlem, according to authorities.

Eugene Miller, 32, has been charged with murder in the second degree for the death of 30-year-old Rosetta Ewell.

According to court documents, on July, 24, 2015 at about 8 a.m. Miller hid in the staircase of a building on West 139th Street near Fifth Avenue, where he knew Ewell would be dropping off their two-year-old daughter.

Ewell — who had two children with Miller — arrived at the daycare center an hour later and dropped off the girl, authorities said. Then as she was waiting for the elevator, Miller came out of the staircase, confronted her and shot her three times in the face.

At that time Miller fled and was later apprehended in October.

“This cold-blooded shooting of Rosetta Ewell, a young mother of two, truly shocks the conscience,” Manhattan District Attorney Cyrus Vance said. “Unwilling to accept that Ms. Ewell ended their relationship, this defendant allegedly lay in wait as she dropped off their two-year-old daughter at daycare, before confronting her and shooting her multiple times in the face just outside of the daycare’s entrance.”
