Man punches subway rider in face over seat on 4 train: Police

Police are looking for a man they say punched a subway rider several times in the face last week over a seat on a Bronx train.

On March 7 at about 5:55 a.m. the 58-year-old victim was onboard the southbound 4 train approaching the Mount Eden Aveue subway station when the suspect started arguing with him over a seat, according to authorities.

As the victim was sitting in the seat the suspect pushed him to the floor and punched him several times in the face — causing a cut to his upper lip, police said.

The suspect stayed on the train, while the victim got off at the Mount Eden Avenue station, according to cops. The victim refused medical attention at the scene.

Police describe the suspect as a black man last seen wearing blue jeans, a black hooded sweater, blue jean jacket and a black baseball cap, and was carrying a black backpack.

Authorities have released a photo of the suspect, which was taken by the victim on his cellphone while onboard the train.
