Man with 141 arrest warrants captured in Edmonton

A man with 141 warrants for his arrest was finally apprehended in Edmonton late last week.

David Shawn Tidman, 25, was arrested in a home on 145 Avenue and 27 Street on Friday.

Police said Tidman answered the door and allegedly provided the officers with a driver’s licence under a false name.

After searching the house, police found stolen credit card data, driver’s licences, computers, weapons, and various drugs, amongst other things, police said.

Karen Carlson, public information officer with the EPS, said he was not arrested earlier because police were still investigating. They had to be careful because it seemed identity theft was a factor.

“He had several warrants for his arrest, not just in Edmonton, but in other jurisdictions as well,” Carlson said. She added that the public’s help was vital in the arrest.
