Clover Food Lab

Clover Food Lab’s first plug-in food truck on Newbury Street is still operating on a tentative schedule — 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. on weekdays — but they’re sweeting the deal this weekend with a maple syrup season celebration on Saturday morning.

The semi-permanent location, which will eventually expand its hours to 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. at its post on the corner of Newbury and Mass. Ave., is reviving an old Clover tradition to take advantage of the maple syrup bounty of Western Massachusetts with Main Grain pancakes and corn fritters. According to Clover, Main Grain also provides the stone-milled grains used in the food lab’s pita bread.

Each $12 ticket gets you ‘cakes, fritters, a glug of locally sourced syrup, your choice of beverage — OJ, hot cider or coffee — and pickles, because, why not? (Apparently they pair well with the syrup. Who knew?)
