Marina Keegan: Yale grad killed in tragic accident

A 22-year-old aspiring writer and new employee at The New Yorker died in a car accident in Cape Cod on Saturday.

Marina Keegan, a Yale graduate, was killed when the car, driven by her boyfriend, Michael Gocksch, hit a guardrail and rolled. She died at the scene, according to the New York Post. He was injured, but is expected to survive.

Keegan was preparing to move to Williamsburg and begin a new job as an editorial assistant at The New Yorker.

She was president of the Yale Democrats and led Occupy Wall Street protests on her campus.

“She was so excited she was going to start work — that’s all she talked about,” her devastated mother, Tracy Keegan, told the New York Daily News.
