More than 20 activist groups are planning a rally at the State House Monday to take a stand against hate crimes that have cropped up around the country in the wake of the presidential election.

The rally, Massachusetts Speaks out Against Hate, is scheduled for 11 a.m. and will feature local government officials including Attorney General Maura Healey and Boston Mayor Marty Walsh.

The event, organized by the Anti-Defamation League, is a response to racist and anti-Semitic incidents happening in Massachusetts and across the country.

The rally is intended to send a message that irrespective of politics or who you supported in the election that type of behavior is unacceptable, according to a news release.

Groups like MassEquality, the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People, and the Urban League of Massachusetts will be participating in the rally.
