A Massachusetts State Trooper accused of sexually assaulting a woman in her Worthington home in 2014 was found guilty by a Hampshire Superior Court jury Friday.

Christopher Kennedy, 32, of West Springfield, was convicted of indecent assault and battery, assault and battery and indecent exposure, according to MassLive.com. Kennedy has been suspended without pay from the department as the trial was ongoing.

The victim reportedly told the court that she met Kennedy online and was initially reluctant to invite him over, but thought she could trust a police officer.

MassLive reports that, once in her home, the victim said the officer exposed himself, tried to kiss her and force her hand onto his genitals, while she repeatedly said “no” and “stop.”

Kennedy’s lawyer reportedly said the victim expressed an earlier interest in sex through their online chats, and that Kennedy stopped when she asked.

Kennedy is reportedly due back in court for sentencing on June 13 in Franklin Superior Court.
